Another Chinese Writer Goes To Jail For Telling The Truth

In China, Hu Jia, 34, and his wife, Zeng Jinyan were placed under house arrest because they posted information on the internet about human rights cases, peasant protests and other government abuses.

On Dec. 27, 2007, Mr. Hu was taken away by the Chinese police. His wife and daughter were left under house arrest, and cut off from telephones and the Internet.

On April 3, 2008 a Chinese court sentenced Mr Hu to three and a half years in prison for telling the truth in a country where this is not permitted.
